Walking and Writing

My challenge this week is to walk and I'm pleased to say I've managed four walks to the edge of town. Two different routes and neither very far, but distance isn't the point. Getting out's enough. Last two days I've not gone out, Friday the weather was pretty wild and today is the weekend - listening to football and too many people on the weekend - though there is still a chance I might go out later. We'll see. But has the walking done my writing any good?

No.

Sort of?

Maybe...

Oh I don't know.

I'm still writing. About 500 words a day, But the words still don't have a sense of direction. The story I started on feels too close to previous works, and I think I might need to do something completely new. A new genre. A new time and place. Clear out all the cobwebs and write something completely different. That said I'm still letting current characters talk and live, act out, but more just for me to practice words with. Oil the art, so to speak. Work my brain. Perhaps it's walking that's allowed me to figure this out, but I need it to inspire me to an idea now...

So I will keep at it.

If there's a topic you'd like me to consider in a blog, a book you think I really need to read and review, or a TV Series you think I'd enjoy (and you'd like me to include it in my blog) drop me a line and let me know.

Finally.

If you do buy my books.

Thank you.

And let me know what you think. Get in touch on Threads.

I'm always there; a writer, you see...
